Change is coming.
After climbing through the dense green forest and emerging on the mid-mountain, greens started to be replaced with yellows, oranges, and reds.
What was a mountain of green just a few short days ago is changing.
A new season is descending on Blackcomb Mountain in Whistler.
For participants at 29029 Whistler, a new season is beginning for them too.
That new season is one marked by grit, challenge, and perseverance. You arrived at Whistler as a certain kind of person, but by the time you leave - after 36 hours on the mountain - you’ll depart as someone new.
You’ll be better. Improved, with new perspectives and new beliefs - new self-belief, and new confidence.
Because if you can climb a mountain as challenging as Blackcomb, you can tackle any of the metaphorical mountains life can throw at you.
To reap the rewards - the changes - from 29029, you have to be prepared for 36 hours of hard. But hard is temporary, even on a mountain as long as this one.
And there’s something that can make it a little easier.
Community.
And the community of 29029 is a community like no other. This is the kind of tribe that will do everything it can to build you up.
And that’s exactly what it did at Whistler #2.
Much like the seasons on the calendar, life also contains seasons. But these seasons are ones we can shape. Here are a few stories about the seasons of life some participants shaped for themselves at 29029 Whistler #2.
Jana came to Whistler looking to start a new season in her life. She’d left something toxic in her life and new beginnings were awaiting her.
But first, she had to climb the Blackcomb Ascent Trail in Whistler. Not only that, but she set out with the goal to pull on the Red Hat, which meant she needed to ascend that trail eight times.
Jana put one foot in front of the other in Whistler, and she achieved her goal. Jana’s new season begins with her amazing achievement at 29029.
If you asked Thad to tell you what the definition of quit is, he probably wouldn’t know the answer. Thad tackled the slopes of 29029 Whistler, leaving it all out on the mountain, and with 3 hours to go, he had completed five laps of the ascent trail.
But that wasn’t enough for Thad. Everest was out of reach, but the sixth ascent wasn’t.
So Thad continued climbing, even when his original goal was out of reach. Thad displayed true dedication to run the clock out on the mountain.
Thad was in a season of grit.
Melanie climbed with us in Idaho while undergoing treatment for breast cancer last year. It didn’t stop her then, and it wouldn’t stop her now, except this time, 29029 had an even more symbolic meaning.
Melanie had finished her treatments earlier this year, so 29029 Whistler was like turning the page on her story. She was entering a new season in her life - a season of continuing to achieve amazing things
It doesn’t matter whether you climbed a single ascent or all eight at 29029 Whistler - you achieved something incredible.
Let your experience on the slopes mark the beginning of a new season in your life - a season where you believe in yourself more, push yourself to new heights, and continue to grow.
29029 is just the beginning…
