Day 2 - The Black Route
The second day began with the weight of fatigue resting firmly on your shoulders. With the excitement of Day 1 replaced with the soreness of muscles pushed to their limits, the goal of 3x3 still called.
This was not just a continuation - this was the grind. This was when it started to get real. This was when you needed to push harder than you ever had before.
A steep ascent of Mount Pluto loomed shortly after the start - a sharp reminder that the hardest challenges often come in the middle of your journey.
Each step got heavier and each breath harder to draw, yet the reward at the summit was undeniable. Lake Tahoe stretched out below, its waters reflecting a golden sunrise as you paused for a moment of clarity.
You had come this far and there was no turning back.
Unlike a 29029 mountain, there was no easy descent from this summit - no gondola ride awaited. Instead, the trail twisted and turned down the mountainside, leading you through exposed slopes under the punishing sun.
You kept going, not because the trail had mercy, but because you had more to give.
The trail would not conquer you.
